I led design for this mid-sized startup, creating cross-platform, native apps for the web, iOS and Android.
Within two years, we partnered with a Fortune 100, and signed one of the largest international retailers, facilitating millions of daily messages.
Over 8 years, I founded, grew, and led design for Rocket — a digital agency specializing in concepting, prototyping and building apps and websites for big names to early-stage startups.
Ending the day having created something that didn't exist that morning is the best feeling 😎
I led design and helped with front-end development on this small team to create a platform for travel listing sites. This included a consumer app for travelers, a member app for property owners, a back-office app for administrators, and a style framework.
We concepted and built the platform, and the first travel site, from sketches to revenue, in less than a year.
Leading design at an agency for 8 years, and at 3 different startups, has given me lots of experience creating intuitive experiences across varied industries.
It's also taught me how successful dev teams work — including design sprints, prototype validation and agile iteration.
Shortly after launching the photo editing app for A Beautiful Mess (below), it shot to the #1 Paid App spot in the app store where it stayed for many days.
Then it stayed in the top 100 Paid apps for a year+ – getting millions of downloads and millions more in revenue.
I've concepted and designed apps that have garnered millions of downloads for Ellen, Warner Bros and A Beautiful Mess.
I've also worked on websites and platforms that thousands of people rely on on a daily basis.
I Co-Founded and led design for this conditional messaging app (native iOS and Android) from whiteboard sketches through a 2.0 release with a team of 12.
The hip and user-friendly experience helped us raise two investment rounds with some household name investors and marketing partners.
My wife started this company, creating really beautiful handmade soap.
I designed all the branding and helped her set up a subscription & ecommerce site on the cratejoy platform — highly customizing one of their themes.
A Beautiful Mess is a popular DIY craft blog that asked for help creating a photo editing app to capture their distinctive style. I designed a UX that allowed users to edit photos and purchase artwork via an in-app store.
Shortly after launching in 2015, it shot to the top of the App Store, becoming a #1 paid app for many days. It then stayed a top 100 paid app for a year+ – even maintaining a 4.5 star rating with 750+ ratings.
Riding bikes, playing music, and indoor soccer are a few favorites. I even recently started posting riffs I make up.

Over the years, I've worked on too many different ideas to share them all. I've helped launched a few games for fun, pitched ideas to companies, and helped friends solidify their ideas into concrete concepts.
